Bangkok--29 Oct--Asia Aziam Burson-Marsteller
eBay, the world’s largest online marketplace, announced that in the first half of October this year, sales relating to Halloween were close to 5 million US dollars, or 167 million Thai Baht. Over 10,000 eBay sellers around the world sold Halloween-related products such as costumes and props on eBay.com.
Allis Ghim, Director at eBay who oversees Southeast Asia, added, “Close to 465,000 Halloween-related listings were recorded in the first half of October alone. With such a large and varied selection of Halloween-related products, it is not surprising that eBay has become an ideal online shopping destination during popular festive periods like Halloween.”
In Thailand, most of the items sold include thematic masks and costumes. The most expensive item sold on eBay.com by a Thai seller was a “Fancy Silver Flower Feather Drag Queen Halloween Dress” at 250 US dollars, or approximately 8,400 Baht.
