Bangkok--26 Nov--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) will work together in building happiness among listed firms’ employees to create sustained business operations. The project will start with 250 listed firms and will promote financial knowledge to employees in 500 listed and non-listed firms.
The “Inner CSR to Healthy Organization” project aims at developing the organization’s employees to be responsible for society both in the workplace and out of it. It focuses on making employees happy through the “Happy 8,” which are Happy Body, Happy Heart, Happy Relax, Happy Brain, Happy Soul, Happy Money, Happy Family, and Happy Society.
“SET and ThaiHealth initiated the “Inner CSR to Healthy Organization” signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to emphasize the encouraging of listed firms to apply corporate social responsibility (CSR) into the firms’ operations and also focus on its employees, the most valuable asset in any organization. This is the way to build sustained business growth,” noted SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai.
“SET and ThaiHealth will hold activities to exchange knowledge with executives, employees, and related parties on how to obtain commitment from employees on CSR activities among 250 participated listed firms. Moreover, there will be training courses and manuals on personal finance available for both 500 listed and non-listed firms. The manual aims at enhancing skills of employees in personal finance, which is a significant foundation in lives,” said Ms. Patareeya.
“CSR should start with understanding and needs of employees in the organizations. They must have “volunteer minds,” that truly want to develop their society and environment. The idea is to develop staff and their quality of life. The organization’s executives should realize the importance of CSR driving from within organization by using the Happy 8 principles as a guideline to build sustainable CSR,” ThaiHealth Executive Committee, Learning for Well-being and Health Organization Promotion Professor Emeritus Chanika Tuchinda, PhD, reported.
“ThaiHealth and SET have lessons and experiences that can be transferred to executives at any level. There will be activities to learn about building healthy organizations, including about financial management, and compiling knowledge to improve the employees’ quality of life, leading to a healthy organization. We are certain that this project will be a success and build happiness to employees, resulting in a strengthened business operation,” Healthy Organization, Project Manager, Chanwit Wasanthanarat, PhD, concluded.
