Worachak International Co. Ltd. (WIC) changed their name to MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR (THAILAND), effective 17 November 2009, with the aim of strengthening and modernizing its identity, fortifying its position as Thailand’s leader in the market for elevators and escalators, and expanding its customer base to bring in new contracts.
“With more than 30 years of experience as a sole agent and operating partner of superior quality elevators, escalators and moving walkways by MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan, Worachak International has always worked closely with their headquarters,” said Mr. Hidetoshi Kan, Managing Director of MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR (THAILAND).
“As the partner of MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan, they have been supplying, installing and servicing the full range of MITSUBISHI elevators, escalators and moving walkways in Thailand, and customers knew that we were owned 100 percent by MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan. Now the time has come to establish the fact that we are the market leader in Thailand with a 35 per cent market share. We and MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan are one, and our slogan is still, as it’s always been, ‘Quality in Motion.’ This means that our quality evolves and grows according to the needs of our customers.”
“By changing our name to MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR (THAILAND), our commitment to quality will still be unsurpassed at every step of the way, from the innovative R&D that was a hallmark of MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan, to state-of-the-art manufacturing, project-specific engineering, professional installation, meticulous testing and commissioning, and totally reliable after sales service.”
Mr. Kan remarked that the market in Thailand was progressing towards recovery, and there have been signs that the domestic economy would continue on its upward path.
“We expect that demand for new elevators and escalators in Thailand will increase because the real estate sector is improving, and demand for our products in major cities throughout Thailand is expected to increase. We believe that the name change will help us to become more widely known and instantly recognizable, so that whenever people think about elevators, they’ll think MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR.
“While it’s vitally important for us to retain our present customer base, we are equally committed to bring in new targeted customers -- the operators of new real estate projects, for example. In fact, we have set ourselves a target of 10 per cent growth in the number of new customers in the next year.
“Customer satisfaction is the objective that underlines every stage of our ISO-9001-2000 certification process, not only as a global corporation, but also as an unfailingly dependable business partner moving passengers efficiently, safely and comfortably 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“To consolidate our services in Thailand, we have built up a training center for our service team, and plan on further investments, while introducing new and innovative products to the market in the coming year.”
“It has been equally important that MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR (THAILAND) - and all the members of the MITSUBISHI staff— feel that Thailand is their special home. They are ready to contribute generously by their actions to the sustainable development of the Thai economy and community, as well as to the safety and well-being of its citizens.”
“The name change was a symbol” he said. Firstly, a symbol of the continuity of quality and service that has grown from the long and inspirational relationship between MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATION of Japan and Worachak International; And also a symbol of the company’s renewed commitment to Thailand under the banner of MITSUBISHI ELEVATOR (THAILAND).
