"Twist and Shout" Exhibition: Closing Events

Bangkok--7 Jan--The Japan Foundation In conjunction with the "Twist and Shout" exhibition, on show at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre until January 10, talks and performances by exhibiting artists will be held as closing events. If you have not seen the exhibition yet, mark these dates to see the show and meet the artists. Artist Talk: Miyajima Tatsuo As part of Twist and Shout Contemporary Art Exhibition, Japan Foundation and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre proudly present an artist talk: Miyajima Tatsuo, a talk session engaged by Anusorn Tipayanont and Gridthiya Gaweewong, Thai critic and curator. On the concepts of continual change, interconnectedness, and eternity, Miyajima Tatsuo has been translating three principals into artworks to audience. As exemplified in MEGA DEATH (shown at BACC), the artist explores his universal theme lying at the root of humanity. The talk will be with his Thai contemporaries on the subject of art and society. The artist presents his past works and concepts, while Thai curator Gridthiya Gaweewong and critic Anusorn Tipayanont join Miyajima to discuss the role of art in the contemporary societies. The goal of this talk is to exchange views as well as engaging ideas from young audience. Yanobe employs forms from futuristic media to address heavy humanistic issues with quirky mix of empirical and fiction. For this talk, the artist discusses past and current works and takes questions from the audience.
