ASUS retains top spot in motherboard sales for 5 consecutive years with 55% market share. Big boss, Pornthep, expects 10% growth this year and motherboard return on sale for 1.2 billion baht. Two new series will be introduces Q1. Innovation development, sales channel expansion, and strong management policy are revealed as 3 main strategies to succeed as market leader.
Mr. Pornthep Watchara-Amnouy, Managing Director of ASUSTek Computer (Thailand) Co., Ltd., revealed that “The overall operation of motherboard segment in 2009 appears that ASUS motherboard has retained no.1 best-selling place in the market for 5 consecutive years. It gained 55% market share last year, which is 5% increasing compared to 2551. Main causes to succeed as market leader are to provide products with more cutting-edge technology than any competitors, and to increase sales channel to reach nationwide customers easier and faster. Following the mentioned causes, the company expects to gain 10% more return on sales in 2009, or 60% market share of overall market, or 1.2 billion Baht value.
“Besides, strong management policy is another main cause that brings success to ASUS, as we separate each segment based on product type. Motherboard is categorized into Open Platform Business Unit, which allow us to enable wide and deep operation more efficiently.
In the future, we believe that the market could be a lot more expanded. Therefore, ASUS has built strategy to research and develop product continuously and seriously, in order to fulfill requirement of all customer levels — from entry level, which is limited-budget customers, to hi-end level, which is advanced customers. About marketing plan for the first quarter of 2009, Mr. Pornthep stated that “ASUS plans to introduces 2 new motherboard series, P7H57D Series and P7H55 Series, the latest innovation that support the current-popular CPU Intel? -- including Intel? Core? i7, Core? i5, and Core? i3, which is especially developed for entry level market in order to provide the best value for the new LGA1156 platform based on the Intel? H57 and H55 chipsets. It can be called the perfect technology for motherboard at present.”
Furthermore, both series contains a lot of special features such as Xtreme Design to increase performance, safety and durability, as well as CPU Level Up that enable users to instantly upgrade their processor via a simple click without installing additional hardware or software. Most of all, both series support USB 3.0 and SATA 6G performance to deliver data transfer speeds ten times that of current USB 2.0 standards.
