Spread the word of your success with Canon products in every business segment!
To reinforce its position as the Number One provider of IT office equipment, Canon Thailand is launching a new campaign: ‘CANON, It Works! Say it forward!’ to introduce new high technology products and solutions that will improve business effectiveness and minimise costs for all industries during this period of economic recovery.
Warin Tantipongpanich, Senior Director and General Manager of the Consumer Imaging and Information Division of Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd said that by the third quarter of 2009, Canon had notched up 10 years as the number one manufacturer of inkjet printers, its market share rose from 37 per cent in 2008 to 43 per cent in both single-function and multi-functional printers. In laser printers, the company achieved a higher share from only six per cent in 2008 to 16 per cent in 2009.
Canon therefore feels confident that 2010 is going to be another successful year, looking at first quarter growth of 10 per cent with its plans to launch 10 new products. The company believes that the increased sales volume from these product lines will be a significant force that will drive Canon to the leading position in office automation for companies of all sizes by 2011.
“We think that 2010 will be a great opportunity to make Canon products an integral part of entrepreneurs’ success, and we shall reach a wider range of users,” said Warin.
“This campaign will show that we’re a leading provider of integrated office automation, including inkjet printers, multi-function inkjet printers, laser printers, multi-function laser printers, projectors and network cameras.”
The company has allocated 30 million baht to promote its ‘CANON, It Works! Say it forward’ campaign, which builds on its predecessors, ‘CANON, It Works! Success starts right at the beginning’ in 2008 and ‘CANON, It Works! Success that can be proven’ in 2009, which aimed to emphasise greater brand awareness and product acceptance. The campaign has been appreciated by consumers, as can be seen from the 220 per cent leap in sales volume of Canon’s products in the business segment last year.
The main focus of ‘CANON, It Works! Say it forward’ is to multiply the number of Canon users from business to business. This will be done by word-of-mouth approval from companies of all sizes of the efficiency, cost economy, improved competitiveness and suitability for long-term investment of Canon products. In addition, to meet all business needs, Canon will be seeking more partners to introduce new privileges for its customers.
At a recent press conference, top executives and company owners reaffirmed the success they had achieved with Canon products, led by SCG Paper who took part in the last year’s campaign.
Other executives included:
1. Muang Thai Insurance, who chose Canon LBP9100 colour laser printer to complete all tasks from general documentary works to business presentations requiring high quality, printouts sharp in every detail. With its cutting-edge technology, LBP9100 delivers rapid printing and cost savings, and it is recommended for all customers, subsidiaries and companies who rely on documentary work.
2. Kantana Animation Studio recommended Canon XEED-LCOS Projector SX7, which made it easy to show all work with the same quality as seen on the computer screens, thanks to the Adobe RGB colour space and the LCD/DLP system. All these advantages are suitable for graphic design companies who want creative work of the best quality.
3. Siam Future Development chose Canon Network Camera VB-C300VD for its professional capabilities, which include wide-angle lens, increased range of focus and flexibility in low-light conditions for thorough surveillance. The company said that shopping malls and retail businesses needed effective equipment of this quality to strengthen their security.
4. iDesign design school benefited from the capacity and durability of the Canon MF8050Cn multi-function colour laser printer that provides lifelike, colourful graphic images. Its automatic double-sided printing system saves paper while the PC Fax function reduces fax time. The school recommended this equipment to its students.

Business entrepreneurs and academic institutions can also invest in Canon products that match their organisations’ size and budget with special offers under the “Canon Business Make Over” programme launched last year. The programme provides advice and practical solution packages for all types of business, with detailed information available through publications, radio spots and the www.canon.co.th/itworks website.
Warin added that Canon would actively reach out to consumers via social media such as Facebook, as the new media are proving to be as effective as the mainstream advertising media. The advantages include lower cost per consumer, and the ability to reach their target audience more accurately.
“The US-based Nielsen Online research data shows the growing importance of online media,” he said. “Social network websites like Facebook and Twitter have become key channels for marketing people to access their target groups. As we saw in 2009, the number of Twitter subscribers in February skyrocketed 1,382 per cent from the year before, while Facebook subscribers jumped by 228 per cent.”
Canon has created a fan webpage for Canon It Works! to enable online interaction with business owners and real users, and to publicise its future activities such as training sessions and seminars as well as prize campaigns for Canon fans.
“We expect this campaign to help Canon achieve the top position in IT office equipment business,” Warin concluded.
