Bangkok--15 Mar--Thai Airways International The following resolutions were reached at today’s Board of Directors meeting (12 March, 2010) held at the Head Office of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited chaired by Mr. Amphon Kittiamphon: 1. Operating Results for January-February 2010 During January and February 2010, THAI carried a total of 3.46 million passengers up from 3.05 million from the same period last year. THAI’s production or available seat kilometer (ASK) for January and February 2010 is about 12% higher than that of the same period in 2009. The cabin factor for January-February 2010 was 80.0 and 82.2%, which is the highest in THAI’s history as compared to the previous year’s 75.2 and 77.0% for the same periods last year. Passenger yield improved dramatically towards the end of 2009 peaking at 2.35 baht/kilometer in December whereas January 2010’s yield remains at 2.27 baht/kilometer as compared to the lowest point of 1.81 baht/kilometer in June of 2009. From the higher volume of passenger traffic, higher yield and higher ASK, the Company’s revenue passenger kilometer (RPK) improved dramatically towards the end of 2009 at 5.1 million RPK as at December 2009 while achieving 5.4 million and 4.8 million RPK in January and February of 2010 which is 22.0 and 16.0% higher than the same periods in 2009. 2. Short-Term Aircraft Lease THAI’s Board approved short-term leases of 3-6 aircrafts, which is currently under negotiations to bridge THAI’s problem of aircraft shortage. The leased aircraft will have a capacity of 300-350 seats and will be leased for a period of 3-5 years. The Management will finalize the details of the lease terms and will seek final Board approval. Three of the short-term leased aircraft is expected to join THAI’s fleet by mid-year.
