Bangkok--23 Mar--Australian Embassy
Australia has awarded postgraduate university scholarships to support the development of five Thai scholars, in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership qualities and professional achievements.
The five winners of the Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) Scholarships, each identified as potential future leaders in Thailand, have now ventured overseas to undertake study at leading Australian universities.
The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) grants ALA Scholarships to develop leadership skills, enhance mutual understanding, knowledge and innovation, and build partnerships and linkages within the Asia-Pacific region.
Since 2006, a total of thirteen Thai scholars have received ALA Scholarships. Further information about current and previous ALA Scholarship winners is available in the attached profiles.
Applications for the next round of ALA Scholarships for studies commencing in the 2011 academic year are open 10 March to 30 June 2010. Candidates who live in, or work on development activities relating to the provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala are encouraged to apply.
