Mitsubishi Motors Thailand to boost pickup market by introducing Triton CNG Single Cab and Mega Cab 2.4 Liter focus on fuel efficiency from Bi-Fuel system compatible with both CNG and Benzene up to E20, and are suitable for both commercial and daily uses with price raging between 469,000 - 611,000 Baht. The company also announces line up in Bangkok International Motor Show during March 26 - April 6.
Mr. Nobuyuki Murahashi, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Company Limited informs that the company is going to introduce Mitsubishi Triton CNG with a new Bi-Fuel system which is compatible with 2 types of fuel; benzene up to Gasohol E20 and CNG, to be a choice for customers who are looking for a more economical Pickup Truck for their both business and daily use. The new model is available in Single cab and Mega cab with 3-year or 100,000 kilometer warranty.
“We aim to response various kinds of customer need with complete and comprehensive production line. The introduction of Mitsubishi Triton CNG, which is equipped with a unique Bi-Fuel system that can run on benzene and CNG, will satisfy customers in term of providing a longer distance and more economy during fuel price hike. The car is worth buying when comparing over all expenditure in long run using to an increasing price of only 65,000 Baht. Moreover, this is the first time in Thai market that Mitsubishi who is the manufacturer has equipped Bi-Fuel system in benzene pick up truck under company standard with 3-year or 100,000 kilometers warranty” Mr. Murahashi said.
Based from benzene series, Mitsubishi Triton CNG will be available in 2 models; Single Cab 2.4 GL and Mega Cab 2.4 GLX. They are powered by 2.4 MPI engine, pumping out the maximum output of 128 horsepower at 5,250 r-pm and maximum torque of 184 N-m at 4,000 rpm. with advance technology of Bi-Fuel system and easy to operate with one touch switch for changing between gasoline and CNG system. Incorporated in this switch is a series of light indicators which also show the level of gas left in the tank. With intelligence ECU that will analyze and control the engine’s fuel and gas injection follow engine torque, Triton CNG provides fuel efficiency and smooth running when switch from gasoline to gas and gas to gasoline.
The Single Cab model still features with a unique design cargo bed from side and tail gate outer hook for heavy loading while Mega cab model comes higher with 57-milimeter height cargo bed which offers a more loading space. The CNG tank is located on cargo bed, covered with a special designed bed liner that not only provides safety but also easy to use and maintenance while the cabin provide a large space and utilities in Mitsubishi style.
In term of safety, the new model provide maximum safe with a lightweight Type II CNG tank with 120 liter water capacity for Single cab and 100 liter water capacity for Mega Cab while gas leakage has been protected by installing a CNG solenoid control valve. More confidence with many items that have been used in all Mitsubishi Triton models starting from the “Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) Body” construction, equipped with side door impact bar, rack and pinion with power steering enables more reliable and responsive directional handling and cornering controls. The turning radius is only 5.7 meter making Mitsubishi Triton CNG drivability is very dynamic.
Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab CNG 2.4 GL is available in 2 colors; Solid White and Cool Silver (Metallic) with attractive price at 469,000 baht and 476,000 Baht while Mega Cab CNG 2.4 GLX is available in 4 colors; Cool Silver, Platinum Beige, Dark Gray Mica and Pyreness Black and was priced at 611,000 baht.
Mr. Murahashi adds about Mitsubishi lineup at the coming 31st Bangkok International Motor Show to be held at the end of March that in addition to the unveiling of Mitsubishi Triton CNG, Mitsubishi has also brought full line up of Mitsubishi vehicles to make their appearances on the stage of the 31st Bangkok International Motor Show 2010 including of Lancer EX, the highlight among cars on display at Mitsubishi Motors booth comes together with 2 special models “Ralliart Concept” and “Smart Concept” for the customers who love unique style. At the same time, after the launch of Mega Cab PLUS “White Pearl” in February, this time the company will also introduce “Triton Double Cab PLUS White Pearl” and display all current models under White Pearl Concept including Space Wagon, Pajero Sport and Lancer CNG 1.6 L.
