BMW Thailand is ready to showcase the engineering superiority with BMW EfficientDynamics technology, responding to the theme ‘‘Ecology Driving Save the Earth’ of the 31st Bangkok International Motor Show during 26 March - 6 April 2010. In this event, it makes the debut of the expanded alternative-energy E20-gasohol range, including BMW 730Li, BMW Z4 sDrive23i, BMW 325i Sport and BMW 318i. Another highlight is the BMW X1, the dynamic and sporty Crossover vehicle. In addition, BMW will also launch 4 new motorcycles: BMW S 1000 RR - the first Superbike from BMW, BMW F 800 R, BMW R 1200 GS / Adventure, and BMW R 1200 RT.

And, following the success of the E20-gasohol-compatible BMW 320i SE launched early this year, we further expand our alternative-energy E20-gasohol range with BMW 730Li, BMW Z4 sDrive23i, BMW 325i Sport and BMW 318i. Moreover, the BMW X1 - the recently awarded ‘Off-Road of the Year’ in the Crossover class - is set to make its national premiere in this event. Uniquely, BMW X1 is the Crossover vehicle that emphasizes on the dynamic and sporty driving experience, yet packaged with an elegant style. As for MINI, we display the special 50th Anniversary models: MINI 50 Mayfair and MINI 50 Camden. The production of these special models will soon come to an end; therefore, the MINI fans should not miss the chance for such collectible anniversary models. In addition, we make the debut of the first BMW Superbike - BMW S 1000 RR - as the highlight of our motorcycle stand. Product highlights:
BMW 730Li. Following the overwhelming success of the BMW 740Li and the BMW 730Ld, BMW Thailand extends its super-saloon offering with the BMW 730Li - yet another engineering masterpiece. Not only does the BMW 730Li offer an unparalleled quality in terms of comfort, performance, efficiency and environmental friendliness, but it also supports the E20-gasohol alternative energy. The E20-gasohol compatible BMW 730Li also comes equipped with an array of advanced technology to enhance comfort and safety. For example, DDC Dynamic Damper Control helps enhancing both comfort and driving dynamics by adjusting the suspension system to best suit the driving environment, including road surfaces, bends and speed. The new Night Vision system with enhanced capability to detect pedestrian direction and speed helps the driver ‘see’ beyond the normal range of the headlights and is able to give a pre-warning to the driver of an individual person or animal with a movement in the direction that could potentially be a hazard. BMW 730Li also features the BMW Navigation System Professional and the new iDrive system.
- BMW 730Li — Retail Price of THB 7,299,000 (Special introductory retail price for the first 100 units only): In-line 6-cylinder 3.0-liter petrol engine with VALVETRONIC technology; 6-speed automatic gearbox with Steptronic function; maximum output of 218 hp; maximum torque of 300 Newton-meters / 2,600-3,000 rpm; acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 9.0 seconds; fuel economy of 10.3 kilometers per liter and CO2 emission of 229 grams per kilometer.
BMW 325i Sport. This is the best of ‘Sport Sedan’, featuring the EfficientDynamics technology and capable of running the E20-gasohol alternative energy. BMW 325i Sport perfectly harmonizes the dynamic high-performance character and the day-to-day business practicality. This 48-unit limited production BMW 325i Sport comes fully equipped with M Sports accessories, including M Aerodynamics Kit with M Sport suspension, 18-inch M alloy wheels with Runflat tires, 6-speed automatic gearbox with Steptronic function and gear shift paddle on steering wheel, and M Sports steering wheel with multifunction. It also features class-leading Infotainment system, including hi-fi sound system, BMW Navigation Profession system with 12 GB partition for music and movie data files, and the new iDrive system with 8.8-inch hi-resolution display.
Not only has the BMW 325i Sport the most powerful yet efficient engine in the 3 Series range, but it also comes with special brake system to ensure that all power is in the control of its driver. As part of the enhanced DSC Dynamic Stability Control, the special brake system include the high-speed brake-ready function - at high speed, once the driver lifts his/her foot off the gas pedal, the brake calipers move into the ‘ready’ position to minimize the elapsed time once the brake pedal is pressed; the Dry Brake function - in wet condition, the brake system automatically expels the moisture from the system to ensure the most efficient brake effect; and the brake fade compensation - the brake system automatically adjusts the brake pressure to accommodate for the built-up heat on the brake pads and brake discs in order to maximize the braking effectiveness.
- BMW 325i Sport Retail Price of THB 3,199,000: In-line 6-cylinder 2.5-liter petrol engine with VALTRONIC technology; 6-speed automatic gearbox with Steptronic function; maximum output of 218 hp; maximum torque of 250 Newton-meters at 2,750-4,250 rpm; acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds; fuel economy of 11.4 kilometers per liter and CO2 emission of 174 grams per kilometer.
BMW Z4 sDrive23i. This refined roadster that harmonizes the charming design of classic roadster and the modern technology offers the best-in-class driving dynamics with its balanced chassis and rear-wheel-drive concept. It features the light-weight retractable hardtop that can open/close within 20 seconds. And especially for the golfers, the new BMW Z4 Roaster offers enough space for 2 full-size golf bags (with roof closed). In addition, it also features the EfficientDynamics technology and capable of running the E20-gasohol alternative energy - making it the first E20-gasohol alternative energy roadster in Thailand.

BMW 318i. This entry-level BMW 3 Series features EfficientDynamics technology and capable of running the E20-gasohol alternative energy. Despite being an entry-level BMW, the BMW 318i not only offers the driving pleasure in BMW style, but it also comes fully equipped with comfort and safety features, for example, Comfort Access, automatic air-conditioning, multifunction steering wheel, PDC Parking Distance Control, and DSC Dynamic Stability Control.

MINI 50 Mayfair & MINI 50 Camden. Both are the special 50th anniversary models of MINI. Integrated in their designs are the MINI unique characters - classic and modern. The MINI 50 Mayfair takes the classic design cue reflecting the great history of MINI, while the MINI 50 Camden is an futuristic interpretation of MINI character. BMW S 1000 RR. This first BMW Superbike is specifically developed as a supersports machine with a concept of combining a straight-four power unit with a light-weight aluminum bridge frame. Such superior set-up brings about the riding dynamics, yet highly stable, crisp handling, as well as long-distance endurance, all of which are the fundamentals of the best racing bike. In addition, the BMW S 1000 RR is equipped with safety electronics, including the Race ABS and DTC Dynamic Traction Control with 4 modes of set-ups. Facing various riding conditions such as wet roads (“Rain”), regular road conditions (“Sport”), a race track with supersports tires (“Race”), or a race track with slicks (“Slick”), the rider also has the choice of various engine characteristics and set-ups available at the touch of a button.
- BMW S 1000 RR — Retail Price starts at THB 950,000: It comes with a highly innovative straight-four power unit. The two in-take and exhaust valves per cylinder made of extra-light titanium are operated by very small and equally light single cam followers. This water-cooled four-cylinder power unit churns out maximum output of 193 hp at 13,000 rpm and maximum torque of 112 Nm at 9,750 rpm. The BMW S 1000 RR sprints from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour within just 2.9 seconds.
