Bangkok--25 Mar--Weber Shandwick
In conjunction with the 31st Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) Chevrolet Sales Thailand (CST) unveiled its new brand image, accompanied by the theme ‘Brand Transformation’. The ‘Brand Transformation’ campaign will be driven by ongoing developments including up-gradation of its customer services and timely launches of the best cars and trucks. Other objectives under this campaign include enhanced manufacturing techniques and technologies and enhanced communications and public management with internal and external stakeholders. From another perspective, this campaign can be viewed as CST and GM Thailand’s commitment to its customers and the Thai/ASEAN markets.
The concept of the new ‘Bowtie’ logo consists of three elements including the Bow Tie, Advancing Diamond, and Open Road. Together, they create ‘The Inspiration to Advance’, conveying optimism, inspiration, freshness, and unrestrained creativity and willingness to face new challenges while positively responding to customers current and future. The logo also embodies the qualities of Chevrolet vehicles including performance, efficiency, economy and driving pleasure.
In addition to ‘Brand Transformation’, CST also unveiled the Chevrolet Colorado with minor changes, and a sportier version of the Chevrolet Captiva SUV.
The ‘Brand Transformation’ campaign was announced by Mr. Martin Apfel, President of General Motors Southeast Asia Operations, General Motors Thailand, and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, the company’s most significant brand enhancement exercise since its inception in Thailand more than a decade ago.
Representation of the changes of Chevrolet’s image include an evolution of golden ‘Bowtie’ logo, surrounded by silver which reflects the inspiration to move into the future with pride, imagination and an eagerness to face new challenges. The new logo will be reflected in all marketing and communications collaterals.
To reflect the dynamic image changes, decoration at Chevrolet’s booth at the BIMS incorporated elements like ‘Open Road’ which reflects the notion of moving forward with customers on a path of confidence and unrestrained creativity, It also implies that Chevrolet is geared to serve the need of customers — present and future.
“In the near future, we are going to have new and exciting products for our customers. However, great cars and trucks are not enough for long-term success. We must strengthen the Chevrolet brand. In order for that to happen, we must focus on our commitments to our customers and stakeholders“ Mr. Martin, President, GM and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, said.
Other attractions at the Chevrolet booth include the Chevrolet Colorado with minor change which incorporates crystal clear headlamps, silver skid plate at front bumper, and larger circular fog lights. The interior incorporates an LED monitor which comes with a navigation system.
The Chevrolet Captiva is also re-introduced as the Captiva Sport Edition White Metallic, which comes with sporty accessories for a more active look. The interior is equipped with leather seats, an LED monitor incorporating reverse camera view and a navigation system. In addition to the highlighted models, Chevrolet will be displaying a complete line up of its current models including the Chevrolet AVEO 1400cc and 1600cc, Chevrolet Optra Sedan and Estate and the Optra CNG.
