Bangkok Bank Senior Vice President and Manager, Corporate Finance Department Surabhan Purnagupta (Trophy handle) and executives from the bank’s Merchant Banking Division recently received the Deal of the Year 2009 award from the Thai Bond Market Association for the bank’s outstanding achievement in the distribution of debentures issued by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). The debentures carried maturity terms of three years (Baht 18.3 billion), four years (Baht 0.5 billion), five years (Baht 11.7 billion) and ten years (Baht 0.5 billion) with a total value of Baht 40 billion. The debentures received the highest possible rating of AAA. Bangkok Bank has won the award every year for seven consecutive years, the only bank to have ever done so. The awards in 2003 and 2004 were received for the sale of debentures by PTT Public Company Limited. In 2005 and 2006, the awards were received for the bank’s role as a financial advisor and selling agent for the debentures issued by DAD SPV Company Limited under a securitization plan by Dhanarak Asset Development Company Limited. The debentures were issued to raise fund for construction of a new government office complex on Chaengwattana Road, Bangkok, in celebration of His Majesty the King’s 80th birthday on December 5th, 2007. In 2007 the bank won the award for its achievement in the distribution of debentures issued by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). In 2008 the bank won the award for its achievement in the distribution of debentures issued by PTT Public Company Limited.
