Economical, Reliable Service Meets Demand for Varied Shipping Solutions
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has further expanded FedEx International Economy? (IE) and International Economy? Freight (IEF) services from Asia to Europe-Middle East (EMEA) and Latin America destinations, with an additional 11 and 15 destinations added to both regions respectively, bringing a total reach of 36 destinations in EMEA and 16 destinations in Latin America.
Both IE and IEF offer more economical, door-to-door, customs-cleared, time-definite shipping services for less-urgent shipments, but come with the same quality and reliability expected from FedEx. This is also the first time FedEx is introducing IEF service to Europe and Middle East from Asia.
Following the recent global downturn, signs of economic growth began to take hold since the second half of 2009. The volume of goods traded worldwide in the fourth quarter was 6 percent higher than in the third quarter.
“Europe is Asia’s largest trade partner generating US$801 billion of export trade value in 2008 ,” said David L. Cunningham Jr., president, FedEx Express Asia Pacific. “Since the launch of IE in early 2008, we continue to expand our service coverage so that we continue to meet the demands of our customers. With IE, we provide customers with more shipping options to help them access trade opportunities in important markets in Europe.”
The key features of IE and IEF services include:
- Competitive rates
- Delivery in two to five business days typically
- 24-hour shipment status tracking at fedex.com and via e-mail
- Customs clearance
- Money-back guarantee
The enhanced IE and IEF services complement the existing FedEx international portfolio, which includes FedEx International Priority?, FedEx International Priority Freight?, FedEx International First? and FedEx International Next Flight?, designed for more time-sensitive shipments.
