Thailand’s first restaurant where the robots are waiters

ข่าวทั่วไป Wednesday April 7, 2010 16:42 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--7 Apr--DC Consultants and Marketing Communications Hajime is a new Japanese grill restaurant that offers its customers an original and innovative dining experience. Situated on the third floor of the brand new Monopoly Park Mall in the Rama III Area, it is Thailand’s first restaurant where all the waiters are intelligent robots. Hajime grew out of the passion of the owner, Lapassarada Thanapanth for Japanese cuisine. She wanted to create an exceptional Japanese restaurant that would give special attention to hygiene. With the whole process from preparation to serving carried out by robots, the risk of contamination would be the minimal, and the cleanliness of the food -- and customers’ good health—would be assured. These canny robots were manufactured in Japan and programmed in Thailand. In addition to serving, they can express emotions, dance to a rhythm, and will automatically go out to collect empty dishes at the customers’ tables. At Hajime, customers can order their meals on the touch-screen monitor on each table. Two robotic arms will then arrange their orders onto trays for the two-armed robots to deliver along a rail track to the customers’ tables. Hajime is on a 450 square metre space on the third floor of Monopoly Park, a new-concept community mall in the Rama III area. It was designed and built with an investment of 30 million baht, and is decorated in warm, traditional Japanese style blended with modern elements that will appeal to modern families. Its menu features 100 fresh items to choose from, as well as the optional Kobe beef dishes specially imported from Japan for beef lovers. “With our intelligent robots, delicious menus and imported specialties, we are certain to attract customers who love premium Japanese cuisine, and also those who are fascinated by technology,” said Lapassarada. “We’re expecting our first year revenue to be at least 60 Million baht, and we’re already planning to upgrade our robots’ abilities so that they’ll provide optimal customer satisfaction.” For more information, please contact: DC Consultants and Marketing Communications Ltd.
