Bangkok--22 Apr--LG ONE Thailand
Aims to be number one across all washing machine categories with 35% market share in 2010
LG Electronics (Thailand) Co., Ltd, Thailand’s number one washing machine manufacturer, today launched Thailand’s first washing machine with steam technology, which reduces wrinkles and eliminates up to 99.9% of allergens and 98% of odors caused by dampness, and uses less energy than a conventional washing machine. By the end of this year, LG aims to achieve 35% market share and maintain its number one position for 10 consecutive years.
Mr. Hyun Woo (Howard) Lee, Managing Director of LG Electronics (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said the new LG STEAM? INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE washing machine range was a key part of the company’s corporate strategy, “We pride ourselves in offering the latest and most advanced products across all categories, reflecting our overall vision of enriching lives through technology.
To this end, LG is committed to developing products that are not only stylish and reliable, but use the very latest smart technology. With this new steam technology, we believe that we will stay number one for ten consecutive years,”
“In the first half of 2010 we will invest an additional THB 150 million in our Thai manufacturing operations, which will significantly increase the capacity of our plant, making it the key hub for production of front load washing machines in the Asian region,” Mr Lee said.
Mr. Rapee Srisunthorn, Product Group Head (Home Appliances) Senior Manager, LG Electronics (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said the washing machine’s superior technology gave it broad appeal, “LG’s STEAM? INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE technology is unique in that it can deliver 100 per cent steam at 100 degrees Celsius, giving consumers peace of mind. It will especially appeal to families with young children, those with allergies, and others concerned about their health. This innovative new product builds on and forms part of the ‘Health+’ campaign we launched last year. We are confident that the LG STEAM? INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE washing machine will be well received by our target customers. Not only does the product boast several unique benefits, but it has been endorsed and accredited by many prestigious international institutes.”
Eliminating up to 99.9% of allergens such as dust mites and other irritants, the LG STEAM? INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE washing machine has been endorsed by four international research institutes, including the British Allergy Foundation.
LG’s Steam Inverter Direct Drive Technology also reduces wrinkles and eliminates 98% of odors that occur from dampness, within just 20 minutes, either removing the need to iron altogether, or making it much easier.
Not only does the technology reduce allergens and wrinkles, it does so using less energy than a conventional washing machine, delivering consumers a 35 per cent energy saving. This led LG to be the first brand awarded an A++ energy rating in Europe.
The LG STEAM INVERTER DIRECT DRIVE washing machine comes in four colors and has more cycles and options than any other washing machine in its class. It is available with a capacity of 8kg, 10.5kg and 12kg, and is priced from THB 39,900 to THB 79,990, including 7% VAT.
