LG Electronics introduced its new PK950, a BORDERLESS design plasma TV — from its flagship INFINA range — offering Full HD resolution from a two inch-thick frame.
The PK950’s superb picture is the result of a combination of LG’s cutting-edge TV technologies. By passing through the TruBlack Filter, the original image is rendered clearer through reductions in light reflection and interference. LG’s Protective Skin Glass technology decreases the gap between the glass and the module, thereby greatly reducing double images. The Dual XD Engine enhances standard definition content into near-high definition quality, while also sharpening colors, contrast and skin tones to ensure crisp edges with no misalignment. And the 600Hz Max Sub-Field Driving Technology works hand-in-hand with the TruBlack Filter and the Dual XD Engine to practically eliminate blurring. Thanks to the PK950’s High Efficiency Module, all this is achieved using 20 percent less energy than 2009 plasma TV models.
Within its slim, uni-layer design, the PK950 has an extremely narrow bezel that provides more room for screen display, and a single-pane glass cover that adds a stylish face to the TV. LG’s Invisible Speakers eliminate the need for a separate speaker grille, while the TV’s base and support stand are of the same color and tone as its body, making for an elegant, coordinated look.
Enhanced connectivity is another virtue of LG’s PK950. Along with NetCastTM — which provides access to such online services as web albums and video streaming — the new plasma TV is certified compatible with all Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) devices, meaning it can connect to home computers and portable media players across wired or wireless networks.
