Thailand's newest and most innovative international education, sport and leisure facility, the Phuket International Academy (PIA) has made two key appointments as the facility moves closer to full operations.
The PIA — consisting of an International Day School, Sports and Leisure Club and Mind Centre — has appointed Harvard graduate, Nick Seaver, as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and staff management expert, Pansak Leangphibul, as Vice-President of Human Resources.
Mr Seaver joins the PIA after a distinguished career in New York's private equity sector, where he was a Principal with JP Morgan Partners, and was also instrumental in helping to build The Beacon Group from start-up to a firm with 80 people managing in excess of USD3 billion, in under five years. He has also been a climate change strategist since 2003, well before the issue became a mainstream social concern.
He will report directly to PIA visionary and owner Klaus Hebben and oversee all operations within the facility's three core centres.
"Mr Hebben's vision is profoundly meaningful and pragmatic. PIA is creating a centre where open-minded people of all ages can cultivate the highest potential of a good heart, a healthy body and a balanced mind," Mr Seaver said.
"I've been drawn to the ways that PIA's three centres - the Day School, the Sports and Leisure Club, and the Mind Centre - can work together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts, and be of benefit to the local community and beyond.
"It was an honour to be asked to join the PIA team and be a part of what we are trying to achieve here."
Mr Pansak holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Tourism Management and was previously the Director of Human Resources at the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa and Marriott's Vacation Club.
The Phuket International Academy is a USD45 million new facility on 135 rai of land in the north-eastern part of Phuket island, incorporating three integrated centres: PIA Mind Centre, PIA Day School and the PIA Sports and Leisure Club.
