Bangkok--26 Apr--DC Consultants and Marketing Communications A new cartoon animation company, Bangkok Likasid, makes its debut in the animation world with the launch of a new, animated TV series starring its cartoon creation, Siew, The Monkey. The 26-episode, comedy series for family viewing with a young target audience aged between 4-14, will be seen on TV channel 7. Like many good stories, Siew the Monkey has a moral element and is designed to encourage young viewers to think for themselves and use their intelligence to solve problems. As a new animation company launching its first product, Bangkok Lockasid is hoping to encourage the competitiveness of the Thai animators so that they will be able to compete in the global market. “Bangkok Likasid Co was the vision of a team of young executives with experience in the animation business, along with veteran Thai animators who’ve been working in the industry for a long time,” said Wanchai Junghattakarn, the company’s Managing Director. “The growth potential of animation in Thailand is such that it will be able to keep pace with a global market worth at least 10 billion baht a year. We believe that animation can play a valuable role in many business channels, and we decided to develop our business to meet the demands of a market that is wide open to creative people who can provide good, creative work”. Bangkok Likasid was registered as a company in 2007. Its main focus is on licensing, but in all it operates in six areas: managing the copyright and licensing of animated works and related byproducts; broadcasting animated series on TV, which will also help its licensing business; merchandising; marketing and promotional activities, with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) playing a key role in its business. The company’s debut 26-episode 2D animated TV series ‘Siew, The Monkey’ is a story that Thais have been familiar with for a long time, and which will appeal to all members of the family. “What we’ve done is to base the leading characters on well known comedians who have become part of our family entertainment -- Taurae Chernyim, Chaturong Mokjok, Kohtee Aramboy, Ood Pentor and many more. They provide the voices for the leading roles, which makes it a lot more fun. The moral elements are smoothly integrated with the story, so that the young audience can easily get the idea of solving their problems by using their intelligence in real life situations. “This is a new page in the history of the animation industry, with story-telling that is not just entertainment, but also provides useful ideas and concepts for the viewers. Be sure to follow the 26 episodes series every Thursdays and Friday from 6.00 to 6.15 pm on TV channel 7 from …….. until August 2010.
