Bangkok--27 Apr--Thai Airways International
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited continues to provide relief flights for stranded passengers as a result of European airspace closure due to the Icelandic volcano eruption.
Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said that throughout the demanding week of rescheduling and uncertainty with the opening of European airspace by Eurocontrol, THAI was able to transport 1,635 stranded passengers to their chosen destinations
At Suvarnabhumi Airport THAI ground staff brought refreshments and meals prepared by THAI Catering to the stranded passengers at the terminal building while awaiting their supplementary flights. Although many passengers could depart as expected, those remaining expressed their understanding and appreciation to THAI and its staff for hospitality and care that the airline presented. THAI has been working closely with the different embassies stationing embassy staff at the airport to support their citizens.
