The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s SET in the City Zone in Money Expo 2010 seminars attracted 4,000 participants. They and other participants concluded 7,000 transactions during the May6-9 event.
Although the public may have been concerned about international and domestic events, it is still very interested in investing. The most popular product or service was mutual funds, with 3,654 transactions worth THB 1,350 million (approx. USD 41.72 million), 66% higher than 2009; second were equity trading accounts, with 3,100 new accounts; followed by derivatives and bond trading accounts at 973 and 11 new accounts respectively. SET President Patareeya Benjapolchai revealed
“SET will continue to emphasize investors education, both in Bangkok and the provinces. Our next event will be SET in the City at Phisanulok, a main province in the low north, on June 5 at Topland Phisanulok hotel. During the event, investors can both consult closely with experts and get information through various other channels,” concluded Ms. Patareeya.
