THAI Resumes Direct Flights to Johannesburg

Bangkok--11 May--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited has resumed direct flights to Johannesburg, South Africa. Beginning 2 June 2010, THAI will operate flights from Bangkok to Johannesburg and from Johannesburg to Bangkok. Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI’s President, said that as part of the airline’s network expansion to increase connectivity of its intercontinental and regional flights, THAI is re-launching its flights on the Bangkok-Johannesburg route, effective 2 June 2010. By re-introducing flights to and from this destination, THAI’s routenet now serves five continents: Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and Africa. In addition to serving an increasing number of passengers, THAI also aims to serve the air cargo market on the Bangkok-Johannesburg roundtrip route. South Africa has a strong national economy, trade, and investment, with Johannesburg also the aviation center of and gateway to South Africa. This gateway will be an added convenience for passengers wishing to connect to other South African cities. As well, the re-introduction of service to Johannesburg takes place just in time for football fans to travel to South Africa and attend the World Cup 2010, organized during 11 June-11 July 2010. Flight TG703 is the Bangkok to Johannesburg route, departing Bangkok at 01.15 hrs, and arriving in Johannesburg at 07.30 hrs on the same day. The return flight is TG704 from Johannesburg to Bangkok, departing Johannesburg at 13.40 hrs, and arriving in Bangkok at 05.55 hrs on the following day. THAI is pleased to introduce the following promotional offers to passengers on the occasion of its re-launch to Johannesburg, as follows: Promotional Fare to Bangkok-Johannesburg v.v.
