EXIM Thailand Gets 1,045-million-baht Loan Request at Money Expo 2010

Bangkok--13 May--EXIM Thailand EXIM Thailand was satisfied with the outcome of its first participation in the Money Expo 2010. The Bank received SMEs’ request for credit lines totaling 1,045 million baht, mostly from SME importers of machinery and technology for productivity improvement and business expansion. Dr. Apichai Boontherawara, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), said that the Bank was successful in opening its booth at Money Expo 2010 for the first time at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on May 6-9, 2010. During the four-day event, EXIM Thailand provided advisory services, business information and financial check-up to 370 SME entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, 36 entrepreneurs applied for EXIM Thailand’s financial facilities worth 1,045 million baht. Most visitors were SMEs who just start up their export businesses and need to import machinery as well as production technology for factory building and business expansion. EXIM Thailand will consider their application in line with EXIM Credit Fast Track guidelines under the government’s Credit Facilities for Liquidity Enhancement to Counter the Crisis Program. EXIM Thailand will organize “Export Risk Management for SMEs” training program on May 24-25, 2010 at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office to furnish Thai SME exporters and interested persons with knowledge and better understanding on export risk factors and impacts as well as risk evaluation and prevention.
