Bangkok--13 May--Unithai Group Unithai Container Terminal welcomed the MV Cape Forby, owned and operated by OOCL, as the vessel made her maiden call on May 5. The visit was part of the dedicated service offered by OOCL in its “CTV” trade — between China/Thailand and Vietnam — serving both Laem Chabang and Bangkok. It ensures high reliability and superior customer service. This new CTV launch service will involve four vessels that are berthed at the terminal every Wednesday. CTV is committed to punctual, safe and efficient service, guaranteeing customer satisfaction. OOCL becomes the newest shipping line to continue berthing at the Unithai Container Terminal, joining Mediterranean Shipping Co SA, STX Pan Ocean, Hanjin, KMTC and Johan. To serve Thailand’s growing container trade, Unithai Container Terminal was established in 1995 and began operations two years later. The terminal is strategically located at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River in Samut Prakarn Province, the Unithai Container Terminal has a 60,000 sq m yard area capable of handling 150,000 TEU’s annually. Container and vessel operations at our site utilise the newly developed Terminal Management System. Most importantly, the terminal provides 24-hour security, maintaining full ISPS compliance. UTCT marked its 13th anniversary on March 26, celebrating the growth of its business and its accreditation for ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance, certified by Bureau Veritas (BV).
