The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) President Patareeya Benjapolchai revealed that SET will have normal trading today (Monday May 17, 2010). All brokerages can still connect normally to the SET's trading systems and investors' trading orders will be executed as usual,"
Today's morning trading session of the SET will be from 10:00-12:30 hours as usual, but the afternoon session will end an hour early, that is, it will be from 14:30 — 15:30 hours. This change includes the Market for Alternative Investment, Bond Electronic Exchange and Thailand Futures Exchange.
The SET will closely monitor the anti-government demonstrations and coordinate with brokerages to maintain normal operations. Investors should carefully keep up with news and consider the credibility of news sources before making investment decisions.
SET will continuously evaluate events and announce changes as the situation unfolds.
