As part of its green philosophy, dusitD2 chiang mai participated and celebrated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day by organising various green activities in order to show its environmental commitment to the community.
dusitD2 chiang mai’s executives joined hands with the hotel’s staff, organising a ‘Pandanus Tree Planting’ activity on Earth day, 22 April 2010, a significant date where individuals, corporations and governments around the world join together to create a global green community with a number of initiatives.
“Since the opening of dusitD2 chiang mai in late 2006, we have been making a strong commitment to becoming recognised as one of the leading hotels in sustainable development and operations,” said Mr. Tarun Kalra, Executive Assistant Manager of dusitD2 chiang mai
“We continue to establish many environmental programmes related to global warming. The ‘Pandanus Tree Planting’ activity is one of the projects that show how much we care about our planet. Additionally, the pandanus leaves from this activity will be blended for the hotel’s new organic herbal welcome drink for our guests to enjoy. Another green project by dusitD2 chiang mai is the ‘go green’ meeting package, which commenced in 2009. It applies the 3 R’s; reduce, reuse and recycle to our meeting and conference planning” added Mr. Kalra.
In addition, a wide selection of local organic cuisine and organic wines are available in dusitD2 chiang mai’s menus. Complimentary evening bar snacks at Mix bar showcase an organic selection of green peas, yellow beans and fava beans, while premium organic wines have been added in Moxie restarrant’s extensive wine list.
