Bangkok--24 May--Weber Shandwick The SAIC-GM Pavilion for World Expo 2010 Shanghai recently received the Most Excellent Public Building Prize from the Architectural Society of Shanghai. It was the only corporate pavilion for Expo 2010 to receive an award. The biannual Architecture Creation Awards are among the highest honors for outstanding architectural achievement in Shanghai. The SAIC-GM Pavilion was selected from among 212 submissions following five months of careful review and assessment. It was chosen for its unique design concept, elaborate construction process, and human and environmentally friendly facilities. Located in the Puxi Expo Park, the SAIC-GM Pavilion will cover an area of 6,000 square meters. With a design concept based on rotating and ascending power, the pavilion architecture symbolizes a road leading to the future. “We are pleased that the SAIC-GM Pavilion has received such a prestigious honor,” said Dr. Jin Qi, Director of the SAIC-GM Pavilion. “We hope to make our pavilion the most popular and eye-catching corporate pavilion at Expo 2010.” added Jean Liu-Barnocki, Deputy Director of the SAIC-GM Pavilion.
