Bangkok--17 Jun--Moody's Moody's announced today the launch of 'Structured Thinking: Asia-Pacific', a new publication that will focus on news, opinion and credit insight relating to securitisation markets in Asia-Pacific, including emerging Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. The newsletter will be available monthly and will contain articles on events affecting RMBS, ABS, CMBS, and structured credit transactions, as well as Moody's opinions on topical issues that may be of concern to investors. It will also include input from analysts in Moody's sovereign and financial institutions teams, as well as economists from our sister company, Moody's Analytics. The first issue provides discussion of a number of Asia Pacific securitisation sectors following the financial crisis. Moody's examines two markets that have performed well through the downturn: Australia, where household finances appear healthy despite high levels of debt, and Korea, where RMBS has remained strong. Moody's also looks at the uneven recovery in the Australian business sector, recent rating actions on Japanese CMBS, and the impact of Japan's moratorium law on the country's RMBS sector. In addition, Moody's comments on an important new development in New Zealand: the introduction of structured covered bonds. The country's first transaction highlights important policy development in NZ and may encourage the introduction of covered bonds in other jurisdictions. 'Structured Thinking: Asia-Pacific' is now available on moodys.com.
