Bangkok--18 Jun--AIS AIS lays customers assured with latest innovation “Smart Secure,” the intelligent personal data backup system, an extension from the original SIM Bank service, capable of data backup and restoration including contacts, SMS, photos, video clips and emails through GPRS/EDGE network in case of mobile phone loss. A command can be sent to lock mobile phone to protect access from other people and delete data in the handset immediately. AIS customers can apply for the service simply by pressing *196 and calling to download and install the Smart Secure program on mobile phones. All data can be backed up through GPRS/EDGE network. Applicable service fee of 20 Baht per month (exclusive of GPRS/EDGE connecting cost), the promotion one-month free trial is available. The mode of use covers 3 functions 1. Data Backup and Data Restore: Although a handset is lost, important data in the handset will not be lost. When customers own a new handset or replace with a new one, the backed up data can be restored and downloaded to the new one immediately. Such data as phone numbers (Contact), SMS, photos, video clips, emails and meeting schedules (Calendar) can be backed up. You can set data backup system on manual or automatic mode with selected daily, weekly or monthly backup. For each backup, the system operations will not back up the data that has been backed up already. This helps save time in connecting GPRS/EDGE. Handheld Lock in case of loss: Through the PIN specified by handheld owners and activated by SMS to protect other people from accessing data on your handheld. 3.
