McKinnon & Clarke, one of the largest energy procurement and compliance specialists in Europe with the regional office in Bangkok, has purchased energy risk specialist, Encore for ฃ6.25 million.
The deal will see McKinnon & Clarke’s turnover increase to more than ฃ30 million and establish it as a major global player in the field of energy, carbon management and legislation in regulated and deregulated markets.
Following the acquisition of Encore, McKinnon & Clarke will become one of the world’s largest independent energy consultancies with 3,500 clients across 40 countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the US. McKinnon & Clarke is responsible for the purchasing of ฃ4 billion of energy. The company is headquartered in Scotland and employs 450 staff in 17 offices across 13 countries.
The announcement coincides with the unveiling of a new name and brand identity for McKinnon & Clarke. Effective from July 1, the company will be known as M&C Energy Group. M&C Energy Group gives a clear and unequivocal statement of the company’s expertise and scope without losing the brand values associated with McKinnon & Clarke.
