Online contest is open to Visa cardholders in Southeast Asia for a chance to win a family package to watch the Opening Ceremony
One lucky family of four will be able to watch the Opening Ceremony for the world’s first Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore on 14 August 2010 by entering an exciting online contest organized by Visa.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Visa cardholders in Southeast Asia is a chance to experience the glitz and glamour of the Opening Ceremony and come face-to-face with some of the world’s leading young athletes.
Visa is the official payment services sponsor and the only card accepted at this inaugural Youth Olympic Games. As the worldwide sponsor and partner of the Olympic Games since 1986, this is the 14th Olympic Games supported by Visa.
Somboon Krobteeranon, Country Manager, Thailand, Visa said: “Visa is thrilled to share the excitement of the Games with cardholders in Thailand. We believe in uniting the world through sports and there is no better way of doing that than giving them the chance to be part of something as historic as the Youth Olympic Games.”
With 370,000 spectators from around the world expected to attend the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and a global television audience of millions tuning in, the contest gives a family of four an opportunity to be part of sporting history.
To take part in the contest, participants simply need to use a Visa card to make a purchase and log on to www.visa-asia.com/syog to submit a 20-word outline on the importance of the Youth Olympic Games to young people. In addition to the trip, participants also stand a chance to win special edition Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games commemorative collectibles. All winning entries will be selected by Visa.
The closing dates to win the trip and special edition Youth Olympic Games commemorative collectibles are 31 July 2010 and 29 August 2010 respectively. The trip includes flight tickets, accommodation, tickets to the Singapore 2010 Opening Ceremony and Visa Prepaid cards preloaded with S$200.
The contest is open to all Visa Credit, Debit and Prepaid users in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. No minimum spend is required to participate.
The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games will begin on 14 August 2010 and close on 26 August 2010. Some 5,000 young athletes aged between 14 and 18 years old will compete in 26 competitions.
