Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. “Ratchaburi Holding” drives on its second renewable project by investing in Solar Power Project through its renewable energy’s subsidiary, Ratchaburi Energy Co., Ltd., which solely owned by Ratchaburi Holding. Currently, it signs the Share Purchase Agreement and Shareholders Agreement of Yanhee Solar Power Co., Ltd., the developer of a 3 MW-Sai Sena Solar Power Project by acquiring 60% stake of the project.
Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, the President of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. mentions “The joint-ventured investment on Solar Power Project developed by Yanhee Solar Power Co., Ltd. reflects the Company’s determination in renewable energy development. This supports its business expansion in accordance with the investment policy stating to obtain 100 MW in renewable energy by 2016. Moreover, the Company aims to response to the government’s policy in promoting private sectors on renewable and green energy development. With the capacity of 3 MW, it has 356 MB project value. The project has its Non-Firm Power Purchase Agreement with the Provincial Electricity Authority. Moreover, the project is subsidized with the Board of Investment (BOI) by providing 8 years Corporate Income Tax Exemption and 50 per cent reduction of corporate income tax for 5 years in addition. This Solar Power Project is considered as the Pilot Project for Company’s further investment.”
Dr Supot Sumritvanitcha, Managing Director of Yanhee Power Holding Company Limited, reveals “By investing in Solar Power Project, the Company responses to the government’s policy on renewable energy for most efficient utilization, especially on Solar power which anticipated to be the complete renewable energy in the near future. This notion accords with the Company’s aim in terms of developing and utilizing green energy for the National Interest. With the characteristic of a renewable energy, Solar power is naturally replenished and derives directly through users in their daily life without pollution caused. This project is consequently considered as the Company’s another sustainable investment”.
Sai Sena Solar Power Project is located in Sena District, Ayutthaya province. Considering as a very small power producer (VSPP) using renewable energy, the project has its Non-Firm Power Purchase Agreement with the Provincial Electricity Authority to which the electricity generated would be transmitted via the transmission line 22 kV to supply to 1,000 households. By being subsidized with 8 Baht/kWh Adder from the Power Department Fund Management Division, Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission for 10 years, it is expected to start the commercial operation date (COD), as of 1st phase, on 20th July 2010 for 1 MW. The project’s second phase, of 2 MW generated, would be in October 2010. With this efficiency, the project is able to reduce Carbondyoxide emission by 2,000 tons per annum.
Besides, Sai Sena Solar Power Project is considered as the Green Energy Pilot Project which the Company aims to contribute as a learning centre to the community. The so called “Green School” is opened to surrounded communities, which mean students, undergraduates and interesting people are welcomed to visit the Project area at its beginning, development and operation.

Established in March 2000, Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL is a leading independent power producer in Thailand with 4,347 MW total effective installed capacity. They derive from a 3,645-MW Ratchaburi’s Power Plant (99.99% stakeholding), a 350-MW Tri Energy’s Power Plant (50% stakeholding), a 350-MW Ratchaburi Power’s Power Plant (25% stake holding), and a 1.75-MW power generating from associated gas, Pratu Thao Power Plant in Sukhothai province, which the Company currently invests in the expansion of 0.875 MW-Pratu Thao Power Plant. Furthermore, There is 4 projects under development in Lao PDR with total capacity 1,108 MW according to equity holding, which consists of a 153.75-MW Nam Ngum 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant (25% stake), a 751-MW Hongsa Termal Power Plant (40% stake), a 110-MW Nam Ngum 3 Hydroelectric Power Plant (25% stake) and a 98-MW Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy Hydroelectric Power Plant (25% stake). For renewable energy development, the Company invests in Wind Power Project in Phetchabun with capacity proportion of 18 MW (30% stake). The Company aims to achieve the total installed capacity of 5,473 MWs from its investment and developing projects.
Yanhee Power Holding Company Limited held 99.99% stakeholding of Yanhee Solar Power Company Limited. The Company invests in generating and selling Electricity by Solar Power. With its total capacity of 34.25 MW from the Non-Firm Power Purchase Agreement with the Provincial Electricity Authority, there are 8 projects in Ayutthaya, Nakornprathom and Supanburi province. This initiates by Sai Sena Project (3 MW producer) which currently is approximately 60% of construction. Its commercial operation date (COD) is expected to start in October 2010. After joining with Ratchaburi Energy Co., Ltd, Yanhee Solar Power currently takes 40% stakes of the project.
