NEO drums up “Golden Moment” Campaign to stimulate Tourism at Mid-Year 2010 in the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2010, offering a host of brand name merchandises, tour packages, and accommodations, with a “Golden Moment” shopping at 199 baht
NEO joins forces with more than 800 entrepreneurs dealing with goods and services to organize the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2010, aimed to stimulate mid-year sales and revive tourism after the mob crisis in the city, with the campaign “Discount for the Nation” offering shoppers a maximum discount of 80%, highlighting the golden moment, with over 900 packages of goods, services, hotels and accommodations at the most worthwhile shopping, starting at 199, up to 999 baht.

Management and Development Company Limited said “ NEO is prepared to hold the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2010, for the consecutive ninth year, as a trade fair with the greatest full-cycle discount at mid — year, to be a part of the TAT’s Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Project, scheduled during 29 July - 1 August, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, with display in more than 800 booths. The fair is packed with tourism goods and services, hotels, accommodations, tour packages, brand name fashion goods, and commodities, all offered at a maximum discount of 80 %. This is meant to revive the shopping atmosphere and stimulate consumers’ purchasing power, as 150,000 visitors are expected, with over 150 million baht in circulation at the fair.
The fair area is divided into 2 zones, covering Plenary Hall 1 — 3. Zone C, first and second floors, and Meeting Room 1 — 4 Goods display areas comprise Part 1 Grand Sale Zone at Zone C1 — C2 and Meeting Room 1 — 4 , where one finds commodities such as clothes, garments, accessories, utensils, home decors, health goods and services, including various brand name products, offered at a maximum discount of 80%, such as ZEIN , HAAS , QUIKSILVER , ROXY , PIERRE CARDIN ,GEOX AEROSOLES , Clarks , ETUDE , Lola , DORTMUND, J.Shoes , Tracy & Belle and Triumph etc. Moreover, goods from OTOP entrepreneurs under the Department of Industrial Promotion are also put up on show and on sale at the fair.
Part 2 Grand Service Zone at the Plenary Hall 1 — 3, is for the sale of tourism goods and services, including hotels, resorts, destinations, airlines, as well as tour business entrepreneurs both domestic and international, offering tour packages at a maximum discount rate of 80 % like merchandises in the Grand Sale Zone part, such as Bangkok Airways, Air Asia, Nok Air, hotels in the Ibis Group, A-One Group, Pan Wiman Group, Asia Group, Sheraton Krabi Resort, Bangkok Marriott Resort and Spa, Marisa Resort and Spa Hotel, Twin Lotus Hotel, Suan Thip Wana Resort, Chiang Rai, Pimalai Resort and Spa, Anantra Resort and Spa, Ata Resort Hua Hin, Khao Kheaw Es Ta Te Resort etc.
Highlighting “Amazing Thai Dessert and Fruits”
Mr. Rerksamai continued that,“ This year, NEO has a special activity, Amazing Thai Dessert and Fruits, to support tourism activities and to stimulate sales at the fair. It is also an activity that visitors can enjoy as families, held in the front of the Plenary Hall, with a bazaar of famous Thai dessert and fresh fruits from the plantations for shopping, or to try your hands at dessert making in the Thai dessert workshops or fruit carving during the weekend, and enjoy the Ancient Dessert Buffet Zone, featuring such desserts that some might have heard, but never have seen the real items before, such as Bulan Dan Mek, Huaro and Hantra etc. while visitors can sample desserts and fruits all day long, viewing exhibits on the legends of Thai desserts, Thai desserts in rites and auspicious festivals, utensils for ancient Thai dessert making, as well as the origin of color and inviting aroma of Thai dessert. Mr. Rerksamai talked about the strategies of the fair that, “We have the strategy of returning profits to consumers by joining forces with more than 800 enterprises, hotels, resorts, tour agencies, airlines, fashion goods, brand name products, SME groups, to offer special promotion for consumers, at a maximum discount of 80 % in the campaign “Discount for the Nation” to stimulate mid-year sales, along with the “Golden Moment” Campaign, offering chances for consumers to select from over 900 packages of tours, hotels, resorts at 3 to 5 stars, and special airline fares at very affordable prices, at 199 , 599 or 999 baht, held every day in the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2010. Such strategies have continuously been used by NEO each year to emphasize the image of a great mid-year discount festival.
The campaigns have been favorably responded by fair-goers, as they provide options for consumers who want to shop for quality products at affordable prices. Mr. Suraphon Svetasrenim , Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, revealed that “The annual discount sale event “Amazing Thailand Grand Sale” is organized by TAT on a continual basis, into the 12th year now, with the objective to motivate more tourists to travel to Thailand and purchase goods and services off Thailand’s peak tourism season, to create Thailand’s image as a quality shopping destination in Asia, while stimulating domestic circulation of currency and distributing income to regional areas, in response to the Government’s policy on tourism which emphasizes the increase of tourist expenditure per person per day..”
Statistics show that tourists tend to shop more in Thailand, as the country has high potentials to produce diverse export goods, as well as folk crafts with local identities which are sought after by tourists. TAT has thus joined forces with more than 5,000 agencies in both the public and private sectors, such as shopping complexes, department stores, shops, hospitals, tour companies, airlines, hotels, accommodations, golf courses, spa, tax-free shops, gem and jewelry outlets in 8 major tourist destinations of Thailand to hold the discount sale of goods and services by 10 - 80% during 15 June - 15 August 2010”
TAT Governor touched on the support that “TAT has been supporting the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair continuously every year, from leading entrepreneurs who join the project. The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Fair is an event that attracts great interest from tourists and the general public, since it brings together goods and services on a full-cycle basis, with a large diversity of goods and services that respond to all needs of consumers, since quality goods and services are continuously brought into the promotion. The fair is thus considered an event with positive impact on the overall economic situation of the country, to stimulate domestic expenditures, as well as to promote the image of the country in tourism, making Thailand the shopping destination for tourists, motivating more tourists to shop for goods off the peak tourism season of Thailand, and creating more tourist attractions, which promotes more cash circulation in the country. It has been expected that the revenue from the event is 1,800 million Bath.”
