Emirates becomes the latest fashion in Spain

Bangkok--30 Jul--Spark Communications Emirates, the international airline of the United Arab Emirates, is to start flights to Madrid, providing passenger service between Bangkok and Spain. The daily service begins from 1st August, making the Spanish capital the carrier's 25th destination in Europe. Daily, Emirates operates 4 flights from Bangkok to Dubai, allowing passengers the convenience to choose an option best suited to their travel needs. Travellers can either stopover in Dubai or connect directly to the new Madrid flight depending on which inbound flight they choose. From Bangkok to Madrid, EK 419 will depart from Bangkok at 0240hrs, arrive in Dubai at 0545hrs, and connect with EK 141 which will depart Dubai at 0725hrs and land in Madrid at 1320hrs. The return flight, EK 142, leaves Madrid at 1615hrs, gets into Dubai at 0105hrs the following day and continue with EK 384 at 0315hrs and finally arrive in Bangkok at 1225hrs. The capital of Spain, Madrid is a cosmopolitan city which houses the Government and Spanish Parliament, and is the home of the Spanish Royal Family. Not only bursting with spectacular historical, cultural and lifestyle attractions, Madrid is an important center of industry and commerce for the entire country. It is the fourth destination to be announced by Emirates for 2010 after Tokyo, Amsterdam and Prague. Spain, with a population of more than 45 million, is one of the most visited countries in the world. In 2007, nearly 60 million tourists arrived in Spain, making the country the second destination for world tourism, to Spanish government figures. Emirates SkyCargo also has two weekly Boeing 747 freighter flights to Zaragoza, each offering 120 tonnes of cargo capacity. Textiles, electronics, other consumer goods and perishables such as fish are carried into Spain. Outbound, the commodities include finished garments, manufactured goods and spare parts for the car industry.
