Bangkok--3 Aug--Bangkok Glass Industry Bangkok Glass Industry Co., Ltd., a leading glass container manufacturer in Thailand and the Asian region, is expanding its operations yet again. The company’s newest facility, operated under the name of Ayutthaya Glass Industry, is the group’s fifth plant in Thailand. It has production capacity of 40 million bottles per month and will contribute to the group’s total output of over 4,000 million bottles annually. Mr. Surasak Decharin, Executive Director and President of Bangkok Glass Industry, revealed that, around the middle of last month, the company had officially conducted a Furnace-Warming Ceremony at the Ayutthaya plant. The new facility, which will be in full operations from August 3rd this year, will be called Ayutthaya Glass Industry Company Limited and situated at Rojana Industrial Park, 55 Moo 3, tambon Sam-bandit, amphoe Uthai, Ayutthaya province. “The company’s fifth plant had been registered even before the construction. It covers the space of 276 Rai and has the production capacity of 320 tons / day from three production lines. The installation would produce mainly non-returnable soda bottles for the Boon Rawd Brewery Group and is expected to be able to produce at least 40 — 43 million soda bottles per month.” Mr. Surasak continued, “The Ayutthaya plant has been designed and mapped out to become one of Bangkok Glass Industry’s main production bases in the near future. The company also has plans to build other container and packaging facilities in the plant’s surrounding areas. This addition of the fifth plant means considerable increase in Bangkok Glass’s total production capacity. At the moment, the five plants currently operating are the Pathuthani plant with the capacity of 910 tons per day; the one in Rayong produces 645 tons / day; Khon Kaen 735 tons / day; Prachinburi 180 tons / day, and Ayutthaya 320 tons / day. That means the present combined production capacity of all five plants is 2,790 tons per day or approximately 1,018,350 annually, or equivalent to almost 4,000 million bottles per year. These numbers evidently prove that Bangkok Glass Industry has the largest glass container production capacity in Thailand and also in South East Asia region. “Apart from the glass container production, the company also invests in other related business, especially in packaging field. Its subsidiaries include Bangkok Visypak — a corrugated carton manufacturer; Petpak — Thailand’s first plastic container (PET) manufacturer; and BG Pak - a plastic closures, crown closures and crate manufacturer. We are and will always be doing everything we can to ensure that all the clients’ container and packaging needs will always be met at Bangkok Glass Industry,” Mr. Surasak concluded.
