Bangkok--10 Aug--PR One Network
TUV Rheinland, a global leader with 140 years of service history in testing, inspection and certification services from Germany, has invested over 150 million Baht in its first Global Technology Assessment Center (GTAC) in South East Asia at Ladkrabang Industrial Estate in Bangkok. The move is made to support growth in export industries through its testing, inspection and certification services and to create recognition in the Thai products abroad.
Mr. Friedrich Hecker, Chief Executive Officer, TUV Rheinland AG, an international technical service provider with 140 years of dedication and commitment to sustainable development of safety and quality in order to meet the challenges arising from the interaction between man, technology and the environment, reveals today that the continuous rise in the Thai export potential coupled with a clearly defined agenda to develop and create innovations of the Thai export industries have made it imperative that safety and performance tests for products produced in Thailand are up to the standards and well recognized by global importers. Having taken such pressing need as well as other related factors into consideration, T?V Rheinland has invested in its first Global Technology Assessment Center (GTAC) in South East Asia in order to enhance its service capability and potential and so that they could better respond to the various manufacturing industries in Thailand.
With an area of over 2,500 SQM containing more than 20 testing rooms and an investment budget of over 150 million Baht, GTAC, which is located in Ladkrabang Industrial Estate, Bangkok is the first center in South East Asia and the 6th of its kind. The facility is built to provide testing, inspection and certification services to manufacturing industries, especially for toys, shoes, garment, furniture, stationery, electrical appliances, auto parts, and etc., where such tests are crucial to assess the readiness of the products before they are exported abroad.
Given its modern testing instruments, GTAC will test and inspect products’ standards and quality in accordance with relevant international standards, especially those products and industries that could post a threat to man and its environment. With world-class experts, it is the most technologically advanced center in South East Asia and able provide efficient and international standard testing services to the industries.
Mr. Arno Zimmer, Managing Director at T?V Rheinland Thailand Ltd., further adds that T?V Rheinland is now in its 19th year of operation in Thailand. Its industry service portfolio covers electronics, automotive, tyres and medical equipments. T?V Rheinland Thailand was established in 1991. Since almost 20 years we have served major industries in Thailand like for instance, electrical and electronic, automotive, rubber and medical devices industries. He said “In order to shorten the travel distances to our customers; therefore, we are present in Bangkok, Khorat, Chiangmai and Hadyai to serve our customers in South Thailand”.
TUV Rheinland Thailand established six years ago a electrical safety testing laboratory for testing of electrical home appliances which is accredited by TISI and has been one of the first testing laboratories in Thailand that became a CB Testing laboratory. Until now we are the only private sector CBTL in Thailand which issues CB certificates locally in order to provide a fast service. In the business field Systems Certification we are accredited by German accreditation body DAKKS and the Thai Accreditation body NAC.It is from that small step forward that T?V Rheinland has expanded its investment and considered the setting up of GTAC at Ladkrabang Industrial Estate which could, as a result, create over 100 jobs.
