Today 11th August 2010, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) held a Board of Directors’ Meeting chaired by Mr. Ampon Kittiampon, THAI Chairman, at THAI Head Office with the following announcement:
1. Operating Results for July 2010
The Available Seat per Kilometer (ASK) for July 2010 was 4.79% higher than in July 2009, and 7.62% higher than in June 2010. The Revenue per Kilometer (RPK) for July 2010 was 12.43% higher than in July 2009, and 26.07% higher than in June 2010. The Cabin Factor for July 2010 averaged at 76.53%, which was 7.29% higher than in July 2009, and 17.14% higher than in June 2010.
During January-July 2010, the Available Seat per Kilometer (ASK) was 6.46% higher than the same period last year. The Revenue per Kilometer (RPK) was 9.88% higher than the same period in 2009. The Cabin Factor averaged 73.53%, which was 3.21% higher than the same period the previous year.
As for Cargo and Commercial Mail, the Available Dead Load Ton-Kilometers (ADTK) in July 2010 was 21.43% higher than in July 2009, and 6.53% higher than in June 2010. The Revenue Freight Ton-Kilometers (RFTK) in July 2010 was 48.24% higher than in July 2009, and 1.20% higher than in June 2010. The Freight Load Factor for July 2010 averaged at 61.76%, which was 26.00% higher than in July 2009, and 5.00% lower than in June 2010.
During January-July 2010, the ADTK was 17.10% higher than the same period in 2009. The RFTK during this period was 54.01% higher than the same period in 2009. The Freight Load Factor averaged 62.15%, which was 31.51% higher than the same period last year.
2. Term Loans from Commercial Banks
THAI’s Board of Directors approved the Company to acquire additional term loans and committed Revolving Credit Line in accordance with the Company’s financial restructuring plan from the banks as follows:
2.1 Bangkok Bank in the amount of THB 12 billion for a period of eight years
2.2 Thanachart Bank in the amount of THB 2 billion for a period of seven years
2.3 TMB Bank in the amount of THB 2 billion for a period of seven years, and THB 1 billion of five-year Revolving Credit Line
2.4 Tisco Bank in the amount of THB 1.5 billion for a period of seven years, and THB 1.5 billion of seven-year Revolving Credit Line.
3. Winter Traffic Program 2010/2011
The Board acknowledged adjustments to the Winter Traffic Program, which will take effect as of 31 October 2010 through to 26 March 2011. The Company will operate flights to 61 destinations in 34 countries for a total of 564 flights per week and 10 domestic destinations for a total of 287 flights per week, combining to a grand total of 851 flights per week.

Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Oslo from 5 flights/week to 7 flights/week with B777-200ER
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Moscow from 3 flights/week to 4 flights/week with B777-300
Australian Routes
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Sydney from 14 flights/week to 18 flights/week with A340-600
Regional Routes
New route to/from Bangkok to Haneda (Tokyo) with seven flights/week
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Nagoya from 7 flights/week to 10 flights/week
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Fukuoka from 5 flight/week to 7 flights/week
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Kolkata from 5 flights/week to 7 flights/week
Increase flights to/from Bangkok to Mumbai from 7 flights/week to 14 flights/week
4. Management Appointments
THAI’s Board of Directors approved the following transfers and appointments:
4.1 Squadron Leader Asdavut Watanangura, Vice President, Aviation Resources Development Department, appointed as Executive Vice President, Operations Department
4.2 Flight Lieutenant Artit Nakeerack, Vice President, Flight Operations Support Department, appointed as Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards Department
4.3 Squadron Leader Alongot Pullsuk, Mission Commander, Flight Operations Department, appointed as Vice President, Flight Operations Support Department
