Bangkok--23 Aug--Verve Ocean Life accelerates to develop agents and life insurance policy with marketing activities emphasizing on grassroot and new targets Delighted with satisfactory business performance of the first half this year, Ocean Life Insurance Co., Ltd. reveals its 6-month business profits of first-year premium income of Bt1,377.81 million, making a total premium income of Bt5,539.36 million which represents 8.12% increase when compared with the same period of the year earlier along with car leasing business accounting for loan income of Bt447 million, increased 22%. In the second half, the company continues “Ocean Life Friendship Song” marketing strategy targeting new generation and “Towards New Career with Ocean Life” TV program together with Sen Tang Setthee (path to become a millionaire) aired on channel 7 to penetrate grassroot segment, and set up an Ocean Life caravan to closely meet customers countrywide in order to underline the company’s image as the “Friends for Life… and Beyond”. Mrs. Nusara Banyatpiyaphod, President of Ocean Life Insurance Company Limited, reveals the business performance of the first 6 months, from January until June, shows satisfactory growth despite the impact of the recent political turmoil in May by which Ocean Life was slightly affected. Provincial markets out of the violent area have well expanded. And Ocean Life has remained the number 1 position in the marketshare with more than 2.3 million customers who have life insurance policy. The company has first-year premium income of Bt1,377.81, a growth of 26.24% when compared with the same period of the year earlier which had first-year premium income of Bt1,091.45. In the meanwhile, it has a total premium income of Bt5,539.36 million, increased 8.12% when compared with the same period of last year gaining premium income valued at Bt5,123.31. For its car leasing business performance in the first 6 months, Ocean Life car leasing balance accounted for Bt1,224 million, a growth of 12% when compared with the same period last year, and new leasing request worth Bt447 million, increased 22% when compared with the year earlier. In terms of investment, the company has a Bt54,923.83-million investment budget issued at the end of June 2010, a growth of 2.76% from last year’s valued at Bt53,447.42 million. “Business performance growth of the first half of this year appears satisfactory, thanks to adjustment of operation approach and management strategy in order to increase workflow, promptitude and modernization. Also the Head Office is modified with the characteristics of “Flat Organization” in an aim to decrease work procedure and adjust branch office’s working system to better cooperate with the Head Office by using brand new IT system” said Mrs. Nusara. In the meanwhile, branch’s image nationwide is urged to be improved with modern appearance. In terms of agents, the emphasis is given to close interaction with customers in order to arm them with improvement of boosted working efficiency training programs to enable them to work with confidence apart from activities that urge them to have enthusiasm and creativity. For its business direction in the second half of this year, the company still keeps boosting and supporting operations of all aspects in order to drive the business performance as planned since the beginning of the year, particularly to underline the concept of the “Friends for Life… and Beyond” In terms of marketing activities, the company staged “Ocean Life Friendship Song” campaign in collaboration with the entertainment company GMM Grammy since the mid of June in order to penetrate into new generation consumers. The campaign gave chances to music talented persons to interpret the “Friendship Song”, the company’s anthem, in various covers to join the contest by uploading them on www.ocean.co.th with closing date on August 13. There were more than 500 covers from candidates. At the moment, the selection of 7 candidates and 7 finalist covers is on process to make an exclusive album with Techin and Rose Sirinthip. In addition, the company organized booth setup caravan activities across the countries in order to get closer to consumers in provincial cities which are important customer base of Ocean Life. Mrs. Nusara says that the overall life insurance business in the first half this year has premium income growth of 19% in the first quarter. But, in the second quarter, life insurance business was slightly affected by the political unrest. The premium income of the overall business in the first 6 months grew by 15%.
