Bangkok--10 Sep--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has again joined hands with the College of Music, Mahidol University, to support Thai musicians up to 25 years old to show their talent at the 14th SETTRADE Youth Music Competition of Thailand, to be held this year. This competition is to promote and develop the musical talent of Thai youth and support their musical expression, revealed Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Services Chanisa Chutipat. “The SET has long realized the importance of promoting the skills of Thai youth in addition to normal academic study. Providing a stage for them to express their musical talent is significant, as it helps stimulate creativity, thinking skills, concentration, decision-making, and problem-solving. It also supports youth to be brave and make a difference. These youth will grow to be adults with potential and be an important force in developing the country. SET is proud to be a part of organizing this competition,” said Ms. Chanisa. “To be able to express one’s music talent in front of a large audience is a rare and great opportunity for Thai youth, and so the SETTRADE Youth Music Competition is an important event for them. It does not matter whether what kind of music instrument they play, what grade they are in, or what region are they come from -- they all receive equal opportunity. The more talented ones will have more chances to present, while the others can admire their capability and learn from them. Youth with different instruments can exchange knowledge, which is the new way of studying music in Thailand. Many prior prize-winners from this contest have continued to develop their music talent and won recognition at national and even international levels. They have become our nation’s pride,” revealed contest chairman and Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, Prof. Sugree Charoensook. The competition is open for youth from primary through university level to express their talents, with scholarship and prizes worth over THB600,000.
