Bangkok--10 Sep--SET Nine firms listed on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Market for Alternative Investment (mai) were selected to be in Forbes magazine’s Asia’s 200 Best Under Billion list for 2010, showing Thai listed firms’ strong performance, while Pruksa Real Estate PCL has been chosen for two consecutive years. “This year, nine Thai listed firms made Forbes’ prestigious list. Forbes Asia magazine carefully screens companies from the entire Asia-Pacific, each with total sales of not over USD1 billion. noted SET Group Head Issuer & Listing and mai President Chanitr Charnchainarong. Of the nine Thai firms on Forbes’ list, six were on SET, i.e., Advanced Information Techonology PCL (AIT), Dynasty Ceramic PCL (DCC), M.C.S. Steel PCL (MCS), Pruksa Real Estate PCL (PS), Supalai PCL (SPALI), and STP&I PCL (STPI). The mai listings were Qualitech PCL (QLT), Thai Nondestructive Testing PCL (TNDT), and Thai Nakarin Hospital PCL (TNH). “In 2009, five Thai firms were selected by Forbes, and all were SET-listed. This year, nine Thai listed firms made Forbes’ prestigious list, the highest record in four years. Of these, three are listed on mai, which is a pleasure to see that our listed firms have recovered from the recent economic crisis and grown stronger. Every Thai firm that Forbes chose had sales and profits in 2009 that were higher than the previous year, at an average of 25.91% and 51.49%, respectively. The nine firms’ total market capitalization was THB106.58 billion (approx. USD3.33 million),” concluded Mr. Chanitr. This year, 151 new companies were included. A total of 31 firms from six ASEAN countries were selected, i.e. Thailand (9 companies), Malaysia (9), Singapore (8) Philippines (3) Indonesia (1) and Vietnam (1). This year, the economic situation in Asia grew at a higher rate than other regions and led the way in the recovery of the world economy,” For more information, please contact S-E-T Call Center 0 2229 2222 Members of the media should contact the Public Relations Unit, Corporate Communications Dept.: Ladawan Kantawong, tel: 0-2229-2036 / Kanokwan Khemmala, tel: 0-2229-2048 / Nattaya Muangman, tel: 0-2229-2043
