Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister gave an inaugural address along with Dr.Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Oraganisation who has announced the “First Global Forum on Medical Devices” in Bangkok, Thailand hosted by government of Thailand and its Ministry of Public Health. More than 400 delegates from 190 countries from Member States of the World Health Organisation, scholars and representatives of health professions, international agencies, civil society organizations and the industry participating in this event at the Crystal Hall, Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel.
The objectives of this event is to improve the availability, accessibility, appropriate selection, assessment and the use of medical devices in line with the World Health Assembly resolution on health technologies to protect the health of the population.
