Sofitel Bangkok Silom is proud to announce its achievement in receiving a Gold Award and Certificate of Green Leaf Hotel and Health Promotion and Smoke Free Hotel 2010, presented by Dr. Suvit Yodmani, President of Green Leaf Foundation. The award represents the strong commitment to the protection and development of the world’s environment.
From 2009 to 2010, Sofitel Bangkok Silom has organised to reduce 469 smoking rooms to 48 smoking rooms to promote health of the hotel’s guests and has targeted to implement only non-smoking rooms in the near future. The hotel also improved the quality of the water in outdoor swimming pool by using saltwater system to create good health for the guests as well as to preserve the environment.
The Green Leaf Foundation has confidence in the efforts of hotel owners, operators, and their business partners in collaboratively working together towards the betterment in managing the environmental quality for the prosperity and sustainability of the industry and the country.
