Boonyanuch graduated in Master Degree from the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University and is now an invited instructor for many educational institutions. Boonyanuch said ‘creating new craft or new work is not always a simple or easy thing to do as my father taught us at home. However, when we reach to the completion point, we will be proud of the effort we have input. The same has been happening to me, even this memorable and giant cross-stitch piece took me two years to complete, I has felt very proud. Actually I like to do the needle works since I was young. When I studied at elementary school on Prathom 5, I learnt how to make embroidery piece, how to make hand garland, crochet and knitting. I really like all type of these works, but the most love is the cross-stitch and I have started to put a lot of effort on cross-stitch working 18 years ago. Every cross-stitch design features a favorite pattern and colorful style. Make a cross stitch pattern really give me a very fantastic experience it even make a meaningful connection through handmade creation as a gift to our love ones. I specially enjoy to create the beautiful project on meaningful message cross-stitch. The cross-stitch work stands out for its unique artistic expression brought by the perfect combination of bright colors and creative pattern designs. The Sepia cross-stitch collection might be the tedious job, but it is also the challenging work for me. Presently, part of my cross-stitch works such as King Chulalongkorn Rama V work is being exhibited for selling at the art gallery in Germany. This masterpiece on the royal gathering cross-stitch was my greatest stitching achievement and very meaningful to me. I intended to make this piece for our beloved King as he is the center of our hearts. Two years for completion, I took times after work around 8 hours a day, sometime finished at very late night at 2:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m. When working on stitching, I laid down the cross-stitch on the big table and I would make it from top down and right to left with necessary equipments on my side. Needles and variety colors of thread were prepared. From its regular 2 threads stitching, I applied 3 threads special technique to bump up the volumizing and texture for my work. The finished cross-stitch consists of over 8,000 meters of thread in 500 different color combinations, representing this royal gathering. The mixing colors are made from the three main colors to emit light and create the sensation of a color range. I know that one thing required for a stitcher is that patience, as the cross stitch project take time for completion. For me, I had to face with some troublesome such as the fire burning on my place where I hade to evacuate and run from dead with working over 50% on stitching. Unfortunately, that piece was torn out, and I had to start all over again on the new fabric. Later on my health problem on diabetes and pneumonia also affected the delay of working. Anyhow, my determination to complete the project was stronger and during these two years of counting cross-stitch was my fun hobby for relaxation and enjoyment. I felt that it was only the least and tiny thing as I can do for our King. Since we were born, we can see from television that our King has intentionally devoted all his times and effort to the well-being and welfare of Thai people. He always took care of every Thai person regardless of citizen status or religion. He always thought that his citizens should come first. So, this piece of my work was only tiny sweat of hard-working. Not only it was the most productive hobby, it gave a clear sense of achievement, it helped me to be more concentrated and better organized. To me now there is no point in starting the new cross-stitching piece since the great achievement was done. From now on my plan is to devote myself and more times in further study and practice on our religion.’ In addition, the rare Japanese Quilt styles flew from Japan to be exclusively displayed at this festival.
