General Situation The monsoon trough lies across the Central and the lower Northeast regions while the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Thundershowers remain over the whole country with isolated heavy rains in the East and the South. People in risky areas should beware of the severe conditions.
Category 2 tropical depression over the middle South China Sea tends to intensify into category 3. From 18-20 September, it will make landfall over middle Vietnam and move into the upper Northeast and the North of Thailand. The southwest monsoon will intensify with more rain and some torrential rain in the Northeast, the North, the Central, the East and the South. The wind waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will become stronger with the waves about 2 meters high in the Andaman Sea and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. Small boats keep ashore.
