General Situation At 4 a.m. on 18 September, Category 3 tropical storm NOUL was due in the middle South China Sea. Today it will make landfall over Da Nang, middle Vietnam and then move to Mukdahan, northeastern Thailand. From 19-20 September, it will move through the northern region into Myanmar. At the same time, the southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand will intensify more rain over the country. Torrential rains with strong winds are possible. People in risky areas should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and water runoff.

In the upper portion of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf, the winds will be stronger with the waves up to 2-4 meters high and more than 4 meters in thundershower areas. In the lower portion, the waves will be likely about 2 meters while during thundershowers it will be likely above 3 meters. All ships keep ashore.

Northern Part Cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains

in Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Lampang, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak,

Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.

Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.

Northeastern Part Very cloudy with widespread rain. Heavy to very heavy rain with strong winds

in much of Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon,

Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et,

Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 27-32 C.

Northeasterly winds 15-30 km/hr.

Central Part Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani,

Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.

Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 33-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 10-25 km/hr.

Eastern Part Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains

in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 29-32 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-45 km/hr.

Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters in thundershowers.

Southern Part (East Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains

in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khirikhan, Chumphon and Surat Thani.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 30-33 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.

Southern Part (West Coast) Very cloudy with fairly widespread rain thundershowers and isolated heavy rains

in Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.

Minimum temperature 23-24 C. Maximum temperature 29-32 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-45 km/hr.

Wave height 2-4 meters and above 4 meters in thundershowers.

Metropolitan Cloudy with scattered thundershowers.
