General Situation
The southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. Meanwhile, the low pressure cell covers the upper South China Sea. Thundershowers are likely in the country and isolated heavy rains are possible in the Northeast and the East regions. People in the areas should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
From 20 to 22 August, the monsoon trough will lie across the North and the Northeast while the low-pressure cell over the Gulf of Tonkin will move into the monsoon trough line. In addition, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. More rains are likely in the overall country, and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South regions.
