General Situation
The monsoon trough lies across Myanmar and upper Laos into the low-pressure ceel over upper Vietnam while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rainfalls are forecast for the North, the East and the South (west coast). People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands.
In addition, tropical storm MA-ON, due east of the Philippines, is expected to move into the upper South China Sea from 23 to 25 August. It will make landfall over the east coast of southern China without a direct effect on Thailand.
