During 25 ? 26 Aug, the strong monsoon trough lies across the upper North and the upper Northeast into the severe tropical storm MA-ON over Southern China. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. More rains and isolated heavy to very heavy rains are possible in the North, the Northeast, the central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South (west coast) regions. The moderate wind and waves in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are 1-2 meter high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. During 27 ? 31 Aug, the monsoon trough lie across upper Thailand will weaken. Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will weaken. Less rains are forecast over the country. The weakening wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are about 1 meter high and above 1 meters high in thundershowers.
In addition, the severe tropical storm MA-ON over Southern China is expected to downgrade to a tropical depression and an active low-pressure cell, respectively then move to upper Vietnam. This storm with no direct effect on Thailand.
Warning
During 25 ? 26 Aug, people in the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok vicinity, the East and the South (west coast) should beware of heavy rain and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
