General Situation

The monsoon trough lies across the upper North and upper Northeast. Meanwhile, the moderate strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are forecast for the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South. People should beware of heavy rains and its accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows.

From 6 to 9 September, the active monsoon will lie across the lower North, the upper Central and the Northeast while the southwest monsoon is moderate strong. More rains are likely in overall country with heavy to very heavy rains possible in some of the North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, the East and the South regions. The moderate high wind and waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf are 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.

Northern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan,

Phrae, Lamphun, Lampang, Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun

Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-35 C.

Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.

Northeastern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Loei,

Nong Bua Lamphu, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom,

Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen,

Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.

Minimum temperature 23-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-33 C.

Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.

Central Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains mostly in Nakhon Sawan,

Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Singburi, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya,

Suphan Buri, Nakhon Prathom and Samut Sakhon.

Minimum temperature 24-25 C. Maximum temperature 34-35 C.

Southwesterly winds 10-20 km/hr.

Eastern Part Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Nakhon Nayok,

Chachoengsao, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Minimum temperature 24-25 C. Maximum temperature 31-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.

Southern Part (East Coast) Scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon and Surat Thani.

Minimum temperature 23-26 C. Maximum temperature 32-34 C.

Southwesterly winds 15-35 km/hr.

Wave height 1-2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Southern Part (West Coast) Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rains in Ranong,

Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi and Trang.

Minimum temperature 24-26 C. Maximum temperature 28-32 C.

Phuket upwards: Southwesterly winds 20-40 km/hr.

Wave height 2-3 meters and above 3 meters in thundershowers.

Krabi downwards: Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr.

Wave height about 2 meters and above 2 meters in thundershowers.

Metropolitan Fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rains.
