General Situation

At 4 a.m. on 29 September, tropical depression NORU was centered in Kham Khuean Kaeo District, Yasothon. With its sustained winds about 55 km/hr, the storm is moving west-northwest at a speed about 10 km/hr, furthering decline to an active low-pressure cell then. In addition, the strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. Heavy rains are likely in much of the country whereas very heavy rains are possible in some places of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South regions, and the strong winds are also forecast for the Northeast. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands.

The rather strong winds forces the waves 2?3 meters high in the upper portions of Andaman Sea and Gulf and more than 3 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boats keep ashore lasting 1 October.
