General Situation Another rather strong high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea. It is likely to have cool and windy weather with isolated rain. Meanwhile, the monsoon trough remains across the middle South of Thailand with continuous rainfalls and isolated torrential rains in the whole South. People should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands. The winds in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand becomes stronger, forcing the waves in the Gulf 1-2 meters high and in thundershowers more than 2 meters high. The waves in the Andaman Sea are 2-3 meters, and in thundershowers above 3 meters high. All ships should proceed with caution, and small boats keep ashore.
In addition, severe tropical storm NESAT over the upper South China Sea will become a typhoon. It will move through lower Hainan, China near the coast of upper Vietnam on 19 and 20 October. The storm will then downgrade rapidly.
